Export Tenant

The Export Tenant feature allows you to download a tenant, including its settings, forms, templates, configurations, and related components, as a package. This helps preserve tenant data in a portable format that can later be imported into another environment or used as a backup.

A tenant represents the complete collection of AppForms components required to render and run an AppForms application. This includes configurations such as application settings, security settings, forms, workflows, templates, navigation settings, and other associated components.

In the Backup and Restore screen, the terms Site and Tenant are used interchangeably. Therefore, the Export Site and Import Site tabs are used to export and import tenant data.

Users can select the required components from the tenant that need to be exported. This flexibility allows users to export either the entire tenant or only specific components based on deployment or migration requirements.

Let’s explore this in detail.

Step 1: Click the Backup and Restore option from the left navigation menu, as shown in the image below. 

Step 2: The Backup and Restore page appears, as shown in the image below. 

The tenant can be exported from the Export Site tab. The Export Site tab contains three sections:

• Tenant – Displays the tenant name.
• Forms – Displays all forms available in the selected tenant.
• Additional Features – Displays additional tenant components such as Global Menu, Navigation Settings, Security, Security Groups, Workflow and Application Settings.

Step 3: Once a tenant is selected, all forms and additional features are displayed in the corresponding sections. Select the required components and click Export, as illustrated in the image below. 

The tenant will be exported as a ZIP file which can be used to move it to the next environment.
