Export and Import Tenants in AppForms 

AppForms provides the flexibility to export and import a tenant either from the current site to a new environment or to another site within the same site collection. 

This feature is particularly useful when: 

• Migrating tenants between environments (e.g., development → testing → production). 
• Duplicating tenants within the same site collection for reuse or backup. 

Steps to Export Site: 

Click on the Backup and Restore option from the left navigation link as shown in the image below. 

2. The backup and restore option will bring up the following screen where you can select the tab “Export Site” as shown in the image below. 

3. From this form, you can select the required site/site collection that needs to be exported and click the Export button as shown in the image below. 

4. Once you click on the export button, the selected site will be downloaded in a zip file format. 

Steps to import Site: 

Let’s explore the procedure for importing tenants in AppForms. 

• In the destination site, open the Backup and Restore option from the left navigation menu and click on the Import Site tab. 

• Click the Choose file button as shown in the image below. Select the file and click the Open button. 

• Selected file will be shown in the textbox near the choose file button as shown in the image below. 

• Click the load button. 
• Choose the ZIP file, select the site name, select the form to import, pick required additional features, and then click Next. 

 
• The SharePoint Datasource Remap window will open—carry out the required remapping and Click Next. 

• The List Remap screen will appear—complete the necessary remapping there. 

• Finally, click the Import. 

Once the import is complete, a “Restored Successfully” message will appear, as shown in the image below. 

Finally, the imported forms will be shown in the Form Explorer.
