Form Compare 

Form Compare refers to the process of analyzing and identifying differences or similarities between two forms. Users can utilize the form compare functionality to make comparisons between various forms. 

Compare Forms option is available in Form Explorer window as shown in the image below

When the ‘Compare Forms’ option is clicked, the Form Compare window is displayed, as shown in the image below.Picture 2, Picture

To compare a specific form, right-click on the desired form and select the ‘Compare’ option, as shown in the image below.

When the ‘Compare’ option is selected, the Form Compare window appears with the form name populated in the Form 1 field, as shown in the image below.Picture 14, Picture

The Form Compare window includes the following options. 

Search: This option is located on the left side, where you can search for forms to compare using the provided search field. The search will return the relevant form based on the entered value. 

Form 1: This field is used to specify the first form for comparison. Drag and drop the required form from the left section into the Form 1 field. 

Form 2: To compare with the first form, drag and drop the second form into the Form 2 field. 

Form 1 and Form 2 can be placed in their respective fields, as shown in the image below.Picture 12, Picture

The form version can be selected by clicking the settings icon next to the version field, as shown in the image below.

Clicking the settings icon opens the Form Version window, as shown in the image below.

Select the appropriate version from the combo box and click the ‘OK’ button to confirm. 

Compare: This button is used to compare the form in the Form 1 field with the form in the Form 2 field. Upon clicking the ‘Compare’ button, the comparison will be displayed below in three sections: Designer, Rules, and Details. 

Designer: 

The differences in the designer of the two forms will be displayed in the Designer section, as shown in the image below.

The changes will be highlighted using three distinct colors. 

Red:  The red color highlights the controls that have been deleted in Form 1. 

Yellow: The yellow color indicates the controls that have been updated in Form 2. 

Green: Newly added and converted controls in Form 2 are highlighted in green. 

Rules: 

The differences in the rules of the two forms will be displayed in the Rules section, as shown in the image below.

The changes will be highlighted using two distinct colors. 

Red:  The red color highlights deleted rules and deleted trigger in Form 1. 

Green: Newly added, edited rules, new trigger in Form 2 are highlighted in green. 

Details: 

The differences between the two forms will be displayed in the details section, as shown in the image below.

Swap: 

You can swap the values between the Form 1 and Form 2 fields by clicking the swap icon, as shown in the image below.
